A song I wrote about 20 years ago popped up on my radar recently and I started the Update with that, Idylwild, a piece that actually has lyrics and I elaborate a bit on its evolution.

A lot happened last week, aside from a lesson from Nesh on Take It On The Run by REO Speedwagon and our Guitar Geography pack (on sale this week for $10 off).

Last Saturday we held our first Guitar Mastery Webinar and had about 150 people join us for a session on essential techniques and tips. I was able to address a few questions submitted live during the stream and got to some today on things like time signature clarifications, swing/syncopation questions (which included some examples of tunes you probably know played with and without swing). I will get to the rest of the questions over the next couple weeks. We will plan on doing these every few months and having a more focused topic each time.

We also wrapped up our survey that went out to the mailing list a few weeks ago by drawing 5 winner’s names from the 380 submissions we received. Each of the winners got a year of Platinum access. I also briefly addressed some of the things people answered to the question “Anything you wish was part of TG that isn’t currently?” I really want to thank everybody who took the time to help us look at what we can do improve.
