Totally Guitars Weekly Wrap Up July 22 2011

Share

This week at TotallyGuitars we rolled out a few more heavily requested
songs for our Target members, a little ukulele music, a Fly On The
Wall Lesson with one of our members, and managed to revive one of our
most popular features- the Student Reviews.

The new additions to the Target Program included one of Willie
Nelson’s first hits, although not for him, Crazy, Don McLean’s first
hit, American Pie, and a later tune by Bread, Guitar Man. We added an
advanced lesson to our ukulele series from Hal Kinnaman called Pua
Mana, as well as a peek into a live lesson that I had with our TG
member Matt Routley. We went over many things in his lesson and this
part started with The Fisherman by Leo Kottke.

After a couple months on hiatus, I have have been able to get back
into the Student Upload channel and take a look at some of the songs
our Target members have been working on. This week we added reviews of
Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of A New Day by Jethro Tull, and Tom
Varga’s rendition of Quicksand, one of the more challenging
instrumentals here at TG.

I want to thank everybody who responded to the thread that we started
asking about music that you discovered because of TG. It was great to
hear some of the stories. I found it particularly interesting that
many people found new artists because of uploads into the Busking
channel, aside from those that were lessons we did. Busk On!

Until next week…

Stay Tuned& In Touch,

Neil
