This week I spent a little time with some guitar players in the Phoenix Guitar League. One of the main topics of conversation was harmonics, and particularly artificial harmonics. This is a way to get any note as a harmonic, not just the natural ones at the 5th, 7th and 12th frets. Later in the Update I get into the technique but I opened with a bit of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, using artificial harmonics to play some of the melody.

As we head into Father’s Day Weekend I brought up our International Guitar Camp, which is now just 3 months out. We are close to closing registration so if you are thinking of joining us check the IGC site for more info.

This week we added another solo arrangement of a Rolling Stones tune- Play With Fire. This is done as a bit of a DIY lesson, more geared toward you creating your own version. Things wrapped up with a short improv in C.
