A little Ralph McTell started today’s Update. I’m sure you can guess what song was on my mind, of course due to our now working video uploader. I hope more of our students will start taking advantage of that again soon. This led into today’s first tip, which was prompted by Streets Of London as well as Song For Adam, which another student of mine had been working on recently. Other tips later included one on independent finger motion and a very unorthodox situation that arose when I was arranging Albatross for solo acoustic guitar.

Of course, Albatross is Peter Green instrumental from 1968 that was released as a single but eventually showed up on some compilation albums. It presented quite a few challenges as far as a solo acoustic piece, but I hope some of you will take the challenge and give it a try.

Our other new lesson this week was Elton John’s Can You Feel The Love Tonight?, courtesy of Nesh. This is another song you might think would not be good for acoustic but I’m sure you will be swayed when you check it out.

The last big news is that we are making many of our lessons from Totally Vocals available in the very near future. The project got underway today with a couple vocal packs of lessons by The Everly Brothers and The Beatles. I am thrilled to get my friend and colleague Jim Bruno back in the spotlight and get some of his lessons out of the attic.

That’s it for today and I will catch you again next week.

Neil
