Totally Guitars Weekly Wrap Up Mar. 25, 2011

Share

This week we wrapped up the auction for MattB and want to really thank everybody who got involved, particularly Damian, who spent a lot of his time arranging many of the details. Also special thanks to everyone who bid on the items as I’m sure you know how much we appreciate the generosity of the TG Community.

We were able to get you another video from Keith Holland, our local luthier. In this week’s episode he goes over simple techniques for making minor adjustments to the circuitry of your electric guitar. Bring your trusty soldering iron.

We put out a few more student reviews, looking at songs by Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Ralph McTell and Jethro Tull. Speaking of JT and Ian Anderson, we also added another one of his songs to the Target Program- Living In The Past. This is an unusual rock song, being in 5/4 time. Not a favorite at dances but respectable in the Progressive world.

Our other Target songs this week were If You Could Read My Mind and Early Morning Rain, by Gordon Lightfoot, and Lindsay Buckingham’s Go Your Own Way, from Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 album Rumours. We also added tab to our lesson on Landslide for Neil’s Play Through segment which was done as a Chord Solo, incorporating the melody into the fingerpicking.

Some of our instrumental specialist are working on Neil’s composition Quicksand, which we have been putting out as a Drip Feed Lesson. This week we got to the second to last part and it won’t be long until it is completed.

We know that many of our Community like the Lesson Packages we put together and this week we released a 10-Pack of songs from the 1980s. We have a couple more Packs coming soon as well. Be sure to check them out, unless of course you are a Target Member and have complete access to everything anyway.

On to next week- a few more songs from Crosby, Stills& Nash.
