A Visit With Mark Yamanaka Part 4
It was time to play again and I suggested another traditional Hawaiian song. Instead we turned to Danny Boy, a song Mark was asked to perform at the memorial service for Senator Daniel Inouye. We touched on how yodeling has been incorporated into some Hawaiian songs but decided to save an example for a little later, and then headed in to thoughts about writing songs and translating them into Hawaiian.
We started to play his song Lei Maile but decided to wait for a passing airplane. From this point on we were plagued by technical problems with light, focus and noise. We carried on and hope you can overlook the problems and enjoy the visit.
