You may have heard that I have been asked to play for a few hours at an event here in Los Gatos next Saturday, October 26. It has been many years since I have worked on a concert set, let alone 3 hours of playing. I managed to recruit a few friends and students to help carry the load and now it looks like fun. It gave me an excuse to review my inventory of tunes that might be available, or resurrect-able.
So rather than continue our discussion on intervals, I decided to share bits and pieces of my list of tunes with everybody today. I started with a bit of Bethena, which will not be ready anytime soon, and then went through some different categories of songs. I hope you enjoy the somewhat random journey.
If you are near downtown Los Gatos next Saturday, check out the Los Gatos Wine Walk and look for us in the courtyard at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 20 University Avenue from 2:00-5:00.

Omg Neil! That was quite a journey through many familiar pieces that I don’t know the names of and many that I do! I’ve played the campfire version of a few and attempted Man’s Fate as an amateur. But my favorite is your acoustic interpretation of Pat Metheny’s Last Train. So beautiful! I hope I can make it to Los Altos but I’m not sure about other commitments. I’m sure it will be a wonderful time. Greetings to Cathy!
Thanks Fran. Last Train Home is one of my favorite pieces to play. We will be recording the event in Los Gatos this week and make some of it accessible here.
