I spent most of my time this week working on a solo guitar arrangement of a piece by PFM’s guitarist, Franco Mussida. The big plan was to get to a lesson on it but I needed to get a good performance of it first. So one part down and on to the lesson next week.
We did get an interesting lesson from Max taking a page from the instrumental arrangement of a rock song book, Have Love Will Travel, a caveman rock tune from the 1960s. Vanessa brought us So Sad by The Everly Brothers, and in the FOTW department we sat in with Fred as he tried Good Time Charlie’s Got The Blues for the first time.
There were some great contributions recently in the Busking and Collaborations Forums, including The Everlys, Heart, Mason Williams, Glenn Frey, and our recently departed Tom Petty. I really do hope to get to a few more lessons on his songs in the near future.
I want to thank our marketing department of IGCers for the nice words about camp. It is always great when I see we have someone signed up for the first time. I hope there are quite a few more potential first-timers out there who are considering joining us.
Enjoy the update,
Neil
