Totally Guitars Weekly Wrap Up June 13th, 2014

Learn to Play Guitar with Totally Guitars
This week I talked a little about chord tones, particularly the question that came up about missing fifths in chords, and a bit more about songwriting. Obviously this is a direction a lot of people would like to head in and I am starting to form a few ideas on Community projects that we can start on. More on that next week hopefully.
Most of this week’s content was theory driven again as I realized I was not really at a good resting point with the Guitar Geography Series last week but now we are. I hope some of you have a little better grip on it. Even this week’s FOTW titled The Musical Alphabet is important as far as hearing stuff you are somewhat familiar with in a different way.
We also had an ear training lesson on Voices Carry, the 1985 release by Till Tuesday and redone by Aimee Mann acoustically. I need to remember to do more lessons with out “Work It Out” approach.
Till Next Week…
Stay Tuned & In Touch,
Neil
Neil,
I haven’t joined yet. I’m taking lessons from a guy who I’ve gotten to be friends with…..doesn’t mean I can’t fork out a little more money and have visuals I can save and work on. It took me getting to this page to find out your name. Thanks for all the free stuff you’ve put out. I really enjoy your approach to lessons and your choice of songs, Wow, I wish I could have been there just one time when you were taking lessons along with Patrick Simmons!! annnnnd Jorma Koukanen!!!! My big dream is to somehow hear all of the beautiful acoustic stuff Patrick Simmons came up with that never got on Doobie Brothers albums. I’m sure he must have done other stuff. A friend found a used cassette of “Arcade” and it was a big let down because it sounded totally influenced by Michael McDonald.
Anyway, so much about being a huge fan of Pat’s, I really like your teaching style and hope to join up soon.
