The big news this week was our visit with Muriel Anderson. She is a complete joy to have around and hang out with, as I hope you have seen with the three part video we posted this week. She was on her annual California and Western States tour, leading up to the NAMM show and playing somewhere almost every night. Check her full schedule here

She had some great tips on the artificial harmonic techniques, and we played through quite a few songs that popped up during our conversation, including Moondance, Moonshadow, Night Lights, and a few others inspired by her newest CD, Eclipse. We even had a discussion and demonstration for anyone who thinks their hands are too small to play the guitar.
The other big news was about IGC Amsterdam. It is officially a go now and a few people have already registered. We have added Max Rich to the camp. Max will bring an extra dimension to the teaching, particularly focused on improvising and technique.
Max has been bringing us some really interesting lessons lately, last week on harmonizing a melody in And Your Bird Can Sing, and this week with a look at a fun Def Leppard tune, Pour Some Sugar On Me. We also added Vanessa’s lesson on Goodnight Saigon by Billy Joel, and a Fly On The Wall with Sandy where we talked about some approaches to relaxing on stage and play with nerves.
I also talked a bit about problems people encounter with comments on YouTube. I have to delete a couple almost every day from our channels. We are once again looking in to getting our Student Review and Busking uploads working, along with continuing challenges to keeping our website up-to-date and glitch free.
Music today included an A Minor improv, a little bossa nova rhythm, my tune Paprika, (which drifted into some random noodling), and The Last Steam Engine Train, at least as far as I recall.
Until next week, stay tuned & in touch,
Neil
