Totally Guitars Weekly Wrap Up February 8th, 2013

This week the News took on a very different character, thanks to a
very different character. Our very own Matt Williams happened by and
crashed the shooting party. It turned into more of a mini TG Live than
the usual Weekly Update. I think we got to a review of the week’s
releases and an answer to the question on the Forum about how capos
alter how you think about chords to a song, but I’m not really sure.
In case I missed the new content, we had Target lessons on My Maria by
B. W. Stevenson and later Brooks & Dunn, and Lady-O, a hit for The
Turtles but one that had been written by a very talented songwriter,
Judee Sill. We also had Fly On The Wall lesson covering My Maria and
Shady Grove, as done by Jerry Garcia and David Grisman, along with a
Student Review looking at Don McLean’s Vincent.
The rest of the shenanigans included Matt asking me to play a bunch of
songs I couldn’t remember, as I recall, and us throwing out some of or
ideas and plans for the first TG Retreat/Conference/Seminar/Workshop/
Hang-Out/Reunion, or whatever we decide to call it (Camp is out of the
running for various reasons).
Enjoy the lack of discipline and focus and next week we hope to be
back to your usual programming.
