A little theory never hurt anyone, right?

I hope everybody takes some time to watch this week’s FOTW lesson with Wiley. He barely touched his guitar and we talked theory for an hour… Intervals, triads, seventh chords, inversions, and even inverted intervals! There should be something in there for everybody.

In today’s Update I went briefly into some of the ideas but I was afraid of it stretching out into another hour. As it is, I played some examples of tunes that include some harmonies in thirds and sixths, Brown Eyed Girl, Peace Train, and Buffalo to name a few. Then ended with a tune of mine that is more of a ground (look it up), Jetstream.

This week’s new lessons also included a couple Aretha Franklin songs, Save Me and Natural Woman, as well as You Give Love A Bad Name from Bon Jovi.
