I recently took some unplanned time off playing and practicing, due to an ugly finger injury, but a few days ago got back into the swing of things. I had a lot of fun resurrecting some pretty complicated pieces and started out today with John Renbourn’s My Dear Boy (warts and all!).
I followed that with a couple originals (and their own warts), Lemon Twist and Paprika.

Lemon Twist sent me off on an analysis tangent of how the tune was constructed, which went on for quite a while. I probably need to add this to our ‘Inside The Mind’ Series someday. And once in that direction, Paprika got a bit of a similar treatment, although not as in depth.

Maybe next week there will be more news and less analysis, but I can’t promise.
