I had My Back Pages in my head as I started the camera today, but I got sidetracked by a short interchange that happened a couple days ago as I was working on the lesson. That led into playing a bit of a tune that has a similar theme, which I am sure you will recognize. I also noodled around with themes from this week’s other new lesson, Daylight Again. That one is in Double Dropped D Tuning, which has been a topic of discussion around here lately as we continue to work on a better way of finding those lessons at the site.
Daylight Again also opened the door for a tip on trying to play with the frailing technique, strumming lightly with the fingers and maybe adding the ‘invisible pick’ to the mix.
I had a chance to do a Student Review on an upload of Something, and this led to me discovering that the Reviews are only available to Gold members and higher levels. I am working with the staff to change that as I think there is a huge benefit to seeing comments suggestions made for other students.
I ended with some thoughts on Open E and If I Laugh by Cat Stevens, along with some improvising.
Catch You Next Week,
Neil
