A Farewell to John Renbourn Part 1

John Renbourn was, by far, the biggest influence and inspiration in my musical life. He died on March 26, 2015 at the age of 70.
About a week later, after listening to his music almost non-stop, I sat down to share and reminisce over what he meant to me. I have to say that I am incredibly fortunate in many aspects of my life, but getting to meet, know, perform, and collaborate with my biggest musical hero is the high point of my professional career.
This series of thoughts and stories may come out fairly scattered but I hope you enjoy them.
Hi Neil,
That was beautiful ….. thank you so much. I’ve been an admirer of John’s for a long time …. ‘Judy’ is one of my favourite tines to play and I managed to see both John and his fellow maestro, Wizz Jones (do you know him?) at The Trades Club in Hebden Bridge, Uk ….. wonderful stuff. He may be gone but he’s left a hell of a musical legacy.
Best Regards,
David.
