  I Started A Joke and To Love Somebody are two of the most well known songs written and recorded by the British group the Bee Gees.
  
  This lesson takes a look at both songs in standard tuning as well as open D-Tuning, the latter being used by Barry Gibb throughout his whole guitar playing life.
  
  It also shows how to incorporate the little bassline in the intro of I Started A Joke and the melodic fill in the intro of To Love Somebody.
  
  Both songs are in guitar friendly keys, respectively G and A and consist of mostly open chords. They should be very playable in both tunings.

• Lesson 2: Islands in the Stream - Bee Gees - Guitar Lesson

  Islands in the Stream is a song written by the Bee Gees and sung by American country music artists Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.
  
  The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, giving both Rogers and Parton their second pop number-one hit.
  
  In this lesson we take a look at how the Bee Gees performed it as well as Robin Gibb's version singing it by himself. Their arrangement is done in the key of C and is relatively easy to play.
  
  It also covers Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's duet version, which is progression wise the same, but it includes a key change when getting into the female part, resulting in a new set of chords.

  Morning Of My life is a song recorded by the British group the Bee Gees, who actually don’t need an introduction at all. They have written all of their own hits and sold more than 220 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
  
  Barry Gibb has been using Open D-Tuning ever since he learned it at the age of nine. We take a look at how to play the song in the key of G in that particular tuning as well as standard tuning.
  
  New York Mining Disaster 1941 is the Bee Gees’ American debut single and arranged in the same key and tuning. It uses the same chords and shapes and should be easy to tackle as well.

• Lesson 4: Run To Me - Bee Gees - Guitar Lesson

  Run To Me is a song by the Bee Gees, the lead single and first track on the group's 1972 album 'To Whom It May Concern'.
  
  This lesson shows how to play it in the key of G, standard tuning, where the guitar is capoed on the 2nd fret.
  
  The progression and chords are relatively easy and one could easily fingerpick it or just strum through it.
  
  Since Barry Gibb uses Open E-Tuning for this song, we also take a look at how to play it in Open D-Tuning (Capo II), which is its equivalent a whole step down.

• Lesson 5: Ten Thousand Words - Guitar Lesson

  Ten Thousand Words is from The Avett Brothers album I And Love And You (2009) and is an example of how a simple chord progression and a basic accompaniment can be the background for a great song. This lesson is presented as an ear-training exercise to recognize chord progressions, transpose them to various keys, and use a capo to create a second guitar part. There is a short segment on Pentatonic Patterns as well.

  How Can You Mend A Broken Heart is a ballad released by the Bee Gees in 1971. It appears on their album ‘Trafalgar’ and was their first US No. 1 single.
  
  This lesson shows primarily how to play the song in the key of D, using Open D-Tuning, like Barry Gibb does. It includes segments showing the chords in standard and Dropped D-Tuning as well.
  
  Additionally, we also take a look at Al Green’s popular version in the key of E, using a common picking pattern in 12/8. The latter could be done both with fingers as well as with a pick.
