• Lesson 1: Can't Stop Now

  Can't Stop Now is another great track of Keane's debut album 'Hopes And Fears' (2004).

  This lesson is entirely based on an acoustic version as done by frontman and vocalist Tom Chaplin. 

  Tom plays it in the key of Am, with his guitar capoed on the 3rd fret, taking it down a whole step compared to the album version.

  We take a look at all the chords, the strumming and the progression, which he keeps very straightforward. 

  There is also a segment, in which we take a look at the key of Em as well. It is relatively even easier, and perfect for female singers. 

• Lesson 2: Bend And Break - Acoustic Guitar Lesson

  Bend and Break is a song by English rock band Keane, released as the 5th and final single from their highly successful debut album ‘Hopes and Fears’ (2004).

  This lesson teaches how to play it as Tom Chaplin, the band’s frontman and vocalist, does. He sometimes performs the song by himself, on guitar, in the key of E, using several barre chords, and keeping it simple.

  We also take a look at the key of D, which might be less challenging to some guitar players. From there it is also easier to get a little closer to the album version, by incorporating, for example, the piano intro and a few other little details.

• Lesson 3: Bedshaped - Keane - Guitar Lesson

  Bedshaped is a haunting piano-ballad taken from the very successful debut album ‘Hopes And Fears’ by British band Keane.
  
  It features a beautiful, melodic piano intro, and this lesson shows how to copy it on the guitar. It also shows how to incorporate a few other parts of the song, as performed by Keane’s piano player, Tim Rice-Oxley.
  
  The arrangement is done in the key of D, using Dropped D-Tuning, where the guitar is capoed on the 2nd fret to match the absolute key of E.
  
  The song is definitely not for beginners and anyone trying to tackle it should be able to comfortably fingerpick in general.

• Lesson 4: Everybody’s Changing - Keane - Guitar Lesson

  Everybody’s Changing is a song by English alternative rock band Keane. It was released as the second single from their highly successful 2004 debut album, ‘Hopes And Fears’.
  
  This lesson covers the chords, the strumming in double time, the progression, and how to incorporate the main piano riff as performed by Keane’s pianist Tim Rice-Oxley.
  
  The arrangement is in the key of C, using the three major and the three minor chords, with one chord out of the key.

• Lesson 5: Somewhere Only We Know - Acoustic Guitar Lesson

  Keane are an English alternative rock band, formed in 1995. They are known for using a piano or a synth as the lead instrument instead of guitars, differentiating them from most other rock bands.
  
  ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ is the first track of their very successful debut album ‘Hopes And Fears’, released in 2004.
  
  The arrangement on the guitar is done in the key of G, capoed on the second fret, as vocalist Tom Chaplin and guitar player Jesse Quin do. It uses all the chords in the key except for chord VII.
  
  Both of them keep it very simple, but this lesson shows how to color a few of those chords as piano player Tim Rice-Oxley does.
  
  The strumming is relatively easy and should be done in double time. It needs to be driving, steady and consistent.
