Mike Oldfield is an English musician, songwriter and producer, best known for his debut album 'Tubular Bells' (1973)

Moonlight Shadow, from his eight album Crisis (1983), featuring Maggie Reilly on vocals, became his most succesfull single, reaching the nr. 1 spot all around Europe. 

In this lesson we take a look at a live acoustic version (Volcano Concert).

He plays it with chordshapes in the key of C/Am, where the guitar is capoed on the 4th fret. 

We break down the intro, the chords, and more importantly the strumming, which goes back and forth between the speed of 16th's and the speed of 8th's.

Other skills such as flatpicking for the intro, dampening and/or muting the strings are discussed as well. 

One could of course also mix and match with other versions, such as the 2013 unplugged recording. In other words, make it your own.
