Lesson notes

Stoney is a song by singer-songwriter Lobo taken from his 3rd studio album 'Calumet' (1973), and certainly a fan's favourite. A true campfire song.

This lesson is entirely based on an acoustic version, which you can find on Lobo's YouTube channel.

The song is perfect for beginners, since the progression features only three chords in the key of G (Capo II), and a straightforward strumming pattern. It's entirely based on an acoustic version, which you can find on Lobo's YouTube channel.

Of course we break down the more challenging hammer-ons which re-appear many times throughout the arrangement.

There are several reasons to transpose a song to another key. For that we also take a quick look at the key of C.
