Lesson notes

You Don't Have To Say You Love Me is a 1966 hit recorded by English singer Dusty Springfield and it turned out to be her most succesful single. Elvis Presley recorded a cover version in 1970. It appears on his album 'That's The Way It Is'.

This lessons teaches both versions, which are very similar, just in different keys.

Regardless of which key you chose, a 3rd option is added in the chart, none of them is really easy.

The main challenge are the many chords, including several barre chords from both the E and A families. And since the final chorus moves up a whole step, it adds even more chords. For that, we of course take a look at all of them.

As for the right hand, depending on how you want it to sound or approach, one could fingerpick, flatpick or strum it. Personally I like to do a combination of the latter two.

In short, we take a look at both hands, go through the progression for  the version by Dusty Springfield and the one by Elvis.
