Edelweissby Show Tunes

Edelweiss was written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein for the musical The Sound Of Music. It was performed by Captain von Trapp (Christopher Plummer) with an acoustic guitar accompaniment.

This lesson starts with segments about harmonizing a melody, and figuring out the chord progression by knowing what chords in the key include the melody note you need to harmonize. If you want to take the explore harmonizing it yourself you should only print the attachment 'Edelweiss Melody' first.

The lesson continues with a 'Campfire Version', and concludes with a transcription of exactly the way it was played in the movie.
