In this lesson we are going to learn Snow Patrol's "The Finish Line," by Gary Lightbody, Nathan Connolly, Tom Simpson, Paul Wilson and Jonny Quinn, with lyrics by Gary Lightbody.The 11th track from their 2006 album, Eyes Open, "The Finish Line" is an atmospheric, echoey ballad, with sweeping synths and ringing harmony. The verse features descending harmony over a pulsating drone bass in the home key, and the chorus departs from the tonic to visit the V, vi and IV. We'll learn a simple, flexible arrangement covering the basic feel, with some room for ad­-libbing.
