I-IV-V-I Funky Rock Groove #2by Rock Grooves

In this lesson we’re going to continue working on the I­IV­V­I progression, and this time we’re going to turn up the funk with an advanced groove. We’ll learn 4 8­bar cycles of solo­comping, taking the intensity and complexity up a notch each time. We’ll incorporate syncopated, broken­chord right hand figures, an active, independent bass line, and some “blue” notes and chord extensions.
