Lesson notes

In this lesson we’re going to continue our study of John Coltrane’s ballad “Central Park West” by looking at an advanced 1-chorus comping arrangement. We’ll use 3 note voicings in the right hand and roots in the left hand, but rather than picking one voicing for each chord, we’ll be using several different voicings per chord throughout the arrangement, building a new melody in the top voice and steadily moving the lower voices to create a constant sense of tension and release.
