Whisper Not #3 - Piano Lesson: Advanced 2-Handed Comping Arrangementby Benny Golson

In our third lesson on Benny Golson’s 1956 jazz standard, “Whisper Not,” we’ll see what happens when we go beyond the basic harmony to explore something a litte more advanced. We’re going to learn a set of two-handed voicings with some alternate and extended chord changes, inspired by the 1998 Jazz Messengers live recording of the tune from the album “The Legacy of Art Blakey: Live at the Iridium. We’ll go through the voicings bar by bar, and at the end of the lesson I’ll demo the whole form.
