Lesson notes

In this lesson you'll look at 12 variations of the ii-V-I progression using rootless 9th voicings in the right hand and altered and extended dominant chords for the V. Alterations and extensions are a great way to give your voicings a richer, more unique sound that you can tailor make to the effect you're trying to evoke. This video will introduce you to the concept to get you thinking about different chordal possibilities; in future lessons you'll explore different variations and usage situations.
