Lesson notes

In this lesson, you'll go over an accompaniment part for Kenny Dorham's jazz-bossa nova standard, "Blue Bossa," first recorded on Joe Henderson's 1963 album, Page One. You'll go over the form and the harmony of the tune, and then you'll learn a set of 4-note right hand voicings to fit the chord progression. Finally, you'll apply those chord voicings to a 2-bar bossa nova rhythmic pattern, adding a left-hand bass part in the process. For related study, check out the Intro to Bossa Nova Groove lessons elsewhere on TotallyKeyboards.
