Lesson notes

Brown Eyed Girl was written and recorded by Van Morrison. It was released in 1967 on the album Blowin’ Your Mind!. As a single it got to number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 In this lesson, we’ll talk about the 4 different triads used in the song. It is really a great song for beginners since the chords are so simple As usual, we’ll first go through each part of the song with chords in root position – then follow that up by using the technique of finding the nearest inversion. In the song-specific techniques section of the lesson, I will show you how to play the signature introduction as well as give you some rhythmic ideas to emulate the feel of a whole band.
