Lesson notes

Obladi Oblada was credited to Lennon/McCartney, but it was written by Paul McCartney. It was recorded and released in 1968 on The Beatles White Album. In this lesson, we’ll talk about the 5 different triads used in the song. Two of these chords are played with an added 7 – and one also adds a 9, so I’ll show you how to form those. As usual, we’ll first go through each part of the song with chords in root position – then follow that up by using the technique of finding the nearest inversion. In the song-specific techniques section, I’ll spend the quite a bit of time on the rhythm and bassline. I’ll also show you how to play the melodic fills in the bridge.
