Lesson notes

Yellow Submarine was written by Paul McCartney and sung by Ringo Starr. It was released by the Beatles in 1966 as the B side to Eleanor Rigby AND on the album Revolver. There are only 5 different triads used in the song. And of these only one chord is played with an added 7. So this song should be pretty easy to learn. As usual, we’ll first go through each part of the song with chords in root position – then follow that up by using the technique of finding the nearest inversion. In the song-specific section, we’ll talk about the rhythm of the chord changes, about how to play the walking bassline, and about the instrumental bridge.
