Lesson notes

“Bad Bad Leroy Brown” by Jim Croce is a folk rock song that uses a shuffle rhythm. It was recorded in 1972 and released in 1973 as a single and on the album Life and Times. In it lesson, I will describe the structure of this song that features only 5 major chords. Then we will learn the chords and play through the song using only root position. After that, we will use the technique of moving from chord to chord using the nearest inversion. Finally, in the “song specific techniques” section, I break down many of the bluesy licks featured in the song.
