This song was written from the perspective of Vikings rolling west from Scandinavia in search of new lands. It reached number 16 on the Billboard charts; this song was released on November 1970 on Atlantic records. This song is famous for its wailing cry vocalist Robert Plant. The song is built around repeating staccato riff in the key of F sharp minor. “Immigrant Song” was written during Led Zeppelin's tour of Iceland, bath in Germany in the mid-70s.
