Lesson notes

Honesty was released in 1979 as a 3rd single from Billy Joel's album 52nd Street. It was produced by Phil Ramon but written by Billy Joel. It reached number 24 on the US Billboard hot 100 albums and was the 3rd consecutive top 40 hit. There's some great acoustic guitar work honesty was written in the key of B flat major , and Billy Joel's vocal range is from the note Bb3 to A5 learning Billy Joel tunes for the keyboard player what learning Beatle tunes is for the guitar player. Some of the points covered in this lesson are getting good cord compression/cord closure in the chest voice area, switching from chest up and they head voice. Also some very good examples of how to actually mix chest and head together and what it sounds like. Jim takes a lot of time and is very thorough in his explanations of areas of the voice within this song.
