Smoke gets in your eyes is a show tune written by American composer Jerome Kern and lyricists Otto Harbach in 1933 it has been recorded by numerous vocalists possibly the most famous version was recorded in 1958 by the doo-wop group the platters which became a number-one hit in the US Billboard 100 and reached number 3 on the R&B charts in 1959 and was at the top of the charts in the UK for 5 weeks. Terry Carlton does an excellent job of keeping it stylistically very much in its 50s genre. The song does have some challenges, biggest challenge being able to make the mix strong enough at points in this song to sing it the way the platters did. Song goes from chest, head, strong mix, much to be learned definitely a challenging song for the male vocalist.
