Lesson notes

So you know all your major and minor triads, the scales that go along with them, and also how to play them in various places on the neck…what next? Well, the answer to that is to take your chord knowledge and bump it up a few notches. This lesson is created to help you learn how to play much more colorful (and very common) chord types known as 7th chords. In addition to spicing up your major and minor chords, you’ll be encountering a new type known as dominant. Whether you’re playing blues, rock, jazz, classical or country, 7th chords are a must have for any guitarist serious about their instrument. • Major7, Minor7, and Dominant7 chords in root position • Explanation of how to turn simple triad chords you know into 7th chords • Two corresponding scales for each chord type
