Lesson notes

Once you’ve gotten a hang of the blues scale and what you can do with it, its time to turn your attention toward playing the chords. These slightly challenging chord shapes are given in specific keys that are common to guitar playing and used through out the blues. In addition to the chords you’ll get the scoop on which chords make up a common blues progression and the various sounds that theyre shapes can evoke. • Chord shapes for E7, A7, B7 and D7 • Rhythmic approaches to playing through each set of four bars in the blues progression • Alternate ways of playing chords for different sections of the progression
