Lesson notes

White Room is one of Cream's more interesting songs, originally released on their album "Wheels of Fire" in 1968. This song starts with really intense vibrato and lengthy double stops, giving it a very psychedelic and atmospheric feel, especially with its 5/4 opening time signature. The guitar plays more of a background role for the rest of the band, eventually incorporating open chords, as well as some very elongated chords that Clapton uses the wah-wah pedal on in order to create rhythmic phrasing. The solo also makes heavy use of the wah pedal and is unique because it revolves around pentatonic shapes, but includes other notes that aren't in the pentatonic scale. This song is a really good change to practice your phrasing comfortably with the wah pedal.
