Lesson notes

*Wipe Out*is one of the songs that started defining the ‘Surf Sound’ that was evolving in Southern California around 1960. This instrumental was written and first recorded by The Surfaris, then later The Ventures and just about every other Surf Band out there. This lesson goes over the basic rhythm guitar part (a 12-bar blues progression), the melody played with an alternating picking technique in two different octaves, and a bit on using the minor pentatonic scale to create your own lead.
