*Manha de Carnaval*was written by Brazilian composer and guitarist Luis Bonfa and was the theme song to the 1959 movie Black Orpheus. In 1970 Hal learned this piece from Howard Heitmeyer on guitar. There are some great jazz chords, with a lovely melody and some fun syncopation. This is one of the most requested songs in the world, according to the Guinness book of world records. This arrangement is in the key of A minor and uses typical bossa nova rhythms.
