From Browne's 1972 debut album, Song for Adam was written in memory of his friend Adam Saylor. Its moving lyrics are supported by an expressive fingerpicking arrangement.
The lesson covers the introduction and chord progressions through the verses and choruses, with alternating bass picking providing the rhythmic foundation.
As Jackson varied his picking patterns over the years, the arrangement leaves room for interpretation. Guitarists comfortable with alternating bass will find this an especially rewarding song to learn.
