It is a slightly unusual progression, or really just an inversion of an E minor chord that sets the stage for Lennon&#8217;s beautiful melody. I ended up messing around with an instrumental version that became part of the lesson, as well as the opening tune for today&#8217;s Update.<\/p>\n<p>We added a new <a href=\"https:\/\/totallylessons.com\/student-reviews\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Student Review<\/a> looking at Blue Sky by The Allman Brothers where our member Rich transposed it to the key of A. I also finished up one that you heard me mess with last week &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/totallyguitars.com\/lessons\/2922-you-set-the-scene\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">You Set The Scene<\/a> by Love. I appreciate folks who weighed in with their thoughts on the opening chord, which would just be called B11\/A. The opening arpeggio using cross-picking will be a bit challenging but a lot of fun to work on and master.<\/p>\n<p>We will be hosting our second Free Webinar on Saturday, November 18 at noon Pacific time. Watch for emails about it in a couple days. Info will also be on the TG Forum.<\/p>\n<p>Lately I have been planning more instrumental lessons, mostly based on pop tunes from the 1960s. Today&#8217;s musical excerpts came from songs by The Hollies, Gerry And The Pacemakers and The Seekers.
