I also started with a very unusual jazz standard that I have been afraid of tackling after <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/john-renbourn.html\">John Renbourn<\/a> told me that he and Bert Jansch recorded it and were blasted by critics for playing jazz as folk guitar players. Some of you may be familiar with it.<\/p>\n<p>You have probably heard that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/forum\/11-feedback\/130282-new-tg-site-build-help-us-please.html\">we are asking for help again as the site evolves<\/a> and I am thrilled that this has given me a chance to reconnect with my old friend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.santacruzguitar.com\/videos-workshops-with-richard-hoover\/\">Richard Hoover<\/a>, head honcho of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.santacruzguitar.com\/\">Santa Cruz Guitar Company<\/a>. They have generously offered us 50 sets of their new line of guitar strings to give away to folks who <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/forum\/9-announcements-and-info\/144627-give-us-some-feedback-and-get-a-chance-to-win-a-set-of-santa-cruz-strings.html\">respond to our survey<\/a>. I spent a bit of time there this morning and expect to have some video for you next week. I have to say I was very impressed with the difference I felt and heard in the strings.<\/p>\n<p>This week we brought out lesson on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/521-bon-jovi\/28103-livin-on-a-prayer-bon-jovi-guitar-lesson.html\">Livin\u2019 On A Prayer by Bon Jovi<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/796-faith-hill\/28106-breathe-by-faith-hill-guitar-lesson.html\">Breathe by Faith Hill<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/492-neil-diamond\/28104-song-sung-blue-by-neil-diamond-guitar-lesson.html\">Neil Diamond\u2019s Song Sung Blue<\/a>, and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/494-fly-on-the-wall\/28105-peaceful-easy-feeling-with-kevin.html\">FOTW with Kevin<\/a> where we explored transposing and capoing options when a song is in an unfriendly vocal key with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/332-the-eagles\/3438-peaceful-easy-feeling-free-guitar-lesson.html\">Peaceful Easy Feeling<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Songs that I revisited this week included Last Train Home by Pat Metheny and Sylvia, which is finally starting to get close to comfortable. I have been working on extending Last Train Home by changing octaves for the melody but that is in the infancy stages, as you will see when I struggle through it.
