So what else is new? You might ask. I think it really started last week with the lesson on Girl From Ipanema, which I hope to continue with a solo version, but also by our songs by Three Dog Night that appeared this week, quite coincidentally I might add. It is pretty clear that the upload of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/forum\/117-vocal-section\/143424-never-been-to-spain.html\">Never Been To Spain<\/a> a couple weeks ago got both Vanessa and me looking at songs by the huge group from the early 70s. I am glad I opted for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/704-three-dog-night\/28050-one-three-dog-night-guitar-lesson.html\">One<\/a> after seriously considering doing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/704-three-dog-night\/28052-never-been-to-spain-three-dog-night-guitar-lesson.html\">Never Been To Spain<\/a>, which may have proved embarrassing had we done a lesson on the same song.<\/p>\n<p>So somewhere along the same lines I was inspired to review and relive music from one of my all time favorite bands, Focus. This led to finding the videos I shared with you the other day and sent me down the rabbit hole of trying to arrange Sylvia for solo guitar. The work-in-progress closes this week\u2019s update. There is even a little teaser of Hocus Pocus, both of which were inspired by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/forum\/161-listen-up-musical-challenges\/143585-what-are-you-listening-to-lately-focus-a-jan-akkerman-around-here.html\">Jan Ackerman\u2019s acoustic take<\/a> on the two of them that I ran across at YT.<\/p>\n<p>Along with our Three Dog Night songs, this week we brought out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/377-eric-clapton\/28051-after-midnight-eric-clapton-guitar-lesson.html\">Eric Clapton\u2019s cover of After Midnight<\/a> by J.J. Cale, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/352-james-taylor\/28053-millworker-james-taylor-guitar-lesson.html\">James Taylor\u2019s Millworker<\/a>, and a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/494-fly-on-the-wall\/28054-diamonds-and-rust-with-sandy.html\">FOTW lesson with Sandy<\/a> starting to work on Diamonds And Rust by Joan Baez.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/forum\/4-general-acoustic-guitar-discussion-\/143473-motivation-inspiration-perspiration-losing-finding-and-keeping-your-musical-mojo.html\">motivation thread<\/a> was very interesting as I can get pretty uninspired at times, as I\u2019m everybody does at times. I talk a bit about a couple things that can combat that, and my reawakening to Focus helped me snap out of it somewhat.<\/p>\n<p>This week we also started bringing out some videos from our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/forum\/159-international-guitar-camp\/143581-igc-2017-collaboration-night-the-beagles.html\">last night at IGC 2017<\/a>. The last night is dubbed \u2018Collaboration Night\u2019, and everyone is encouraged to get up and play with other folks who they have been working with during the week. The night started off with our 6-man group The Beagles. I hope you had a chance to check them out. More of that evening will be posted soon.<\/p>\n<p>I also addressed a question that came through our Support network about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guitar-pro.com\/en\/index.php?pg=download&#038;affiliate=TG\">Guitar Pro<\/a>. I know many of you use it to play the files I create with it. It allows you to change the speed and\/or pitch of anything in the format, which can be a great practice and educational tool. I use it just about everyday. Another really useful program is <a href=\"http:\/\/songsurgeon.com\/affiliate\/affiliate.php?id=427_25_1_119\">Song Surgeon<\/a>, which let\u2019s you do something similar to any audio file.
