Welcome to April, where showers are continuing here in Northern California. <\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s update started with a John Fahey piece that crossed my path again after many years, Some Summer Day. A question came to me last week about using a thumb pick and this song is an example of when I might grab one. It is all explained in the segment, along with other <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/forum\/142-luthiers-corner\/140710-curing-pick-woes-or-how-to-hold-on-to-that-thing.html\">thoughts on flat pick tricks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Some other tunes broke out at various times, including Faro\u2019s Rag by John Renbourn, snippets of things I sometimes use a thumb pick on, like Pipeline, The Clap, and Anji. <\/p>\n<p>And I passed out some thoughts on playing perfectly for a recording, why the notes in Is There Anybody Out There might have the illusion of moving faster, and a little <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/forum\/20-other-musicians\/140642-neil-young-steals-a-bootleg-of-his-own-album.html\">Neil Young bootleg memory<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the continuing lesson release program we got <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/749-stevie-wonder\/27954-superstition-stevie-wonder-guitar-lesson.html\">Stevie Wonder\u2019s Superstition<\/a>, courtesy of our TotallyElectric buddy Max, and a pair of U2 songs from Vanessa, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/676-u2\/27955-in-god-s-country-and-running-to-stand-still-u2-guitar-lesson.html\">In God\u2019s Country and Running To Stand Still<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The big thing for me this week was hearing John Jameson\u2019s CD, Home. John has been at our last three IGCs and it really helped him get on the songwriting and recording path. The disc is available at iTunes, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdbaby.com\/cd\/johnjameson\">CDBaby<\/a>, and maybe soon directly from John for those who might like autographed copies.
