It also gave me a good reason to dig out some LPs and tab booklets from <a title=\"Kicking Mule Records - Wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kicking_Mule_Records\" target=\"_blank\">Kicking Mule Records<\/a>. This was a great series spearheaded by Stefan Grossman in the 1970s that featured unknown but fabulous guitar players from around the world playing their own arrangements of Scott Joplin pieces, among plenty of other similar composers and songs.<\/p>\n<p>A short summary of the new stuff this week included <a title=\"San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers In Your Hair - Scott McKenzie - Guitar Lesson\" href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/662-scott-mckenzie\/7052-san-francisco-be-sure-to-wear-flowers-in-your-hair-scott-mckenzie-guitar-lesson.html\">Scott McKenzie&#8217;s San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair)<\/a>, the ragtime-flavored <a title=\"The Smothers Brothers Theme - Mason Williams - Guitar Lesson\" href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/520-mason-williams\/7054-the-smothers-brothers-theme-mason-williams-guitar-lesson.html\">Smothers Brothers Theme<\/a>, the conclusion of Marc&#8217;s visit to TG Central and his<a title=\"Fly on the Wall with Marc\" href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-songs\/494-fly-on-the-wall\/7049-fly-on-the-wall-with-marc.html\"> Fly On The Wall<\/a> lesson, and a couple more<a title=\"Acoustic Genius Series - Ear Training for Guitarists\" href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/target-homepage\/acoustic-genius-series\/359-ags-theory\/7050-ear-training-for-guitarists.html\"> Ear Training Exercises,<\/a> this time the keys of D and E were featured.<\/p>\n<p>We also had a few more songs from the Hogan family private concert at my sister&#8217;s house in Ben Lomond, <a title=\"Acoustic Snap Shots - Corina &amp; Neil Play Foolish Games\" href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/acousticsnapshots\/neil-hogan-acoustic\/corina-neil-play-foolish-games\/\">Foolish Games by Jewel<\/a>, the Dutch translation of <a title=\"Acoustic Snap Shots - Corina &amp; Neil play Suzanne by Leonard Cohen\" href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/acousticsnapshots\/neil-hogan-acoustic\/corina-neil-play-suzanne-by-leonard-cohen\/\">Leonard Cohen&#8217;s Suzanne<\/a>, and our <a title=\"Acoustic Snap Shot - Corina &amp; Neil play Superstar by The Carpenters (Leon Russell)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.totallyguitars.com\/acousticsnapshots\/neil-hogan-acoustic\/corina-neil-play-superstar-by-the-carpenters-leon-russell\/\">Carpenters like take on Superstar by Leon Russell<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The personal ragtime revival reminds me I&#8217;d better get back to practicing more so that&#8217;s all for now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Learn to Play Guitar with Totally Guitars Totally Guitars Podcast Sparked by the ragtime comments in the forum related to the Smothers Brothers Theme, today&#8217;s News included me stumbling through a couple arrangements that were in pretty good shape 30 years ago.
