Totally Guitars Weekly Wrap Up November 7th, 2014
This has been a fun week, at least personally. As you know, I have been revisiting some old stuff, ragtime, etc., and along those lines reconnecting with John Renbourn/Bert Jansch pieces, which led me to finally research the elusive Dav(e)y Graham. I now see why John and Bert held him in such a place of honor. I hope everybody takes some time to track down some videos at YouTube.
The new releases for the week included The Story by Brandi Carlile, Section B of The Good Life, more on Ear Training, and Bob Dylan’s Like A Rolling Stone, kind of tying in where we are in the ear training series. We also had another phase of Guitar Geography with Sandy in our Fly On The Wall series.
Today I started with an old tune that always needs practice as it is one of those high maintenance ones, Faro’s Rag by John Renbourn. There was also a nod and a story about Bert Jansch’s inclusion of Work Song in his version of Angi (I am still in a state of flux as far as spelling both the title and and original artist on that one… stay tuned).
All in all… I need to practice more!
See you next week,
